We had a great Thanksgiving dinner with Jake and Nancy. The guys watched the football game (Packers). The weather was beautiful
Friday night some guy came in the park late couldn't make the corner and backed into our pickup thank goodness he wasn'gt going fast..marked the back fender, taillight and bumper, he started to pull away and back up again, oh yes.... he touched us again.
Monday we moved to the Yuma area and will spend 2 weeks here... then go back to Palm Springs for Christmas. At that time we will spend 10 days in Palm Springs.

So we are hoping everyone has a wonderful MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

We saw a lot of camps but no Elk. Came back to camp had breakfast...Jason and Cindy headed back to Phoenix then the rest of us went for a ride. We checked out the Black Canyon Lake area saw some deer and the burn they had in 2002. It sure covered a big area...lots of  Acres. It was cold all day with the wind blowing.... they guys fixed our steaks and baked potatoes over the open fire that Dawnett and I built.....right guys...we ate inside tonight everyone was about to freeze. It was so cold this morning that the water in the dishpan froze.

Oct. 4,2013

We are all set up and its sure cold at night and early morning.. 5AM 30 degree....last night it was windy and cold, sat around the fire and watched everybody come into the park. They are here for the Elk Bulging or checking out a hunting spot for the end of the month. Had a fire all day. Garys folks and his aunt and uncle from Wisconsin drove up for the day. Was good to see them again. Then the six of us decided to play cards.  Boys against the winners Dawnett brought along a "can of Whoop Ass" and Yes, Thank you very much we won. Enough of that so we headed out for the woods Gary was going to call in the Elk , so here we are out tippy toeing in the brush...I know they could hear us for miles..whispering, giggling and walking on dry brush.......shhhhhhhhhh be quiet...Yea like 3 women are going to be quiet..did you bring your chap- stick Ethel ...,my lips are sooooo dry.
No elk but we got away from camp , back to camp for dinner...Jason and Cindy cooked for us and it was soooooooooooooooooo good. Finished at 8PM and it was so cold you couldn't get away from the fire.

White Mountains...Canyon Point CG

Oct. 3, 2013

We pulled out of Cottonwood, AZ. Camp Verde heading for the White Mountains going thru Strawberry, Pine and into Payson. The drive over the pass was beautiful. We have never been in this area, it looks just like Eastern Oregon with trees, Hills and deer. When we got up on top the meadow was covered with yellow flowers it reminded us of buttercups they were everywhere. Lots of Elks signs (Yellow) but that was the extent of the big guys. We traveled 97 miles today. The weather was beautiful. Strawberry is a little community of  summer cabins and retired people very clean town. So we just rolled on thru and into the little town of Pine it is even smaller than Strawberry went around the bend down the hill and into Payson which is quite a bit bigger we are going to meet Gary and Dawnett here we arrived before they did was to be waiting in the Safeway parking lot but the circus came to town they beat us  so we parked across the street. Payson is a very busy town its at the start of the mountains for all of us that want to go camping in the White Mountains there was RV's going every direction. We followed Gary up to the campgrounds. Dawnett told me about this beautiful home that sets in the meadow so I tried to take a picture of it going 60 miles an hour well, guess what I got the tree instead don't you think its pretty. Its the mating season for the Elk so we are hoping to hear some bugling and a sighting of the big guys.
The weather is cool up here it was 76 and windy today and this evening, the guys built a fire cooked the hamburgers over the coals we ate in the dark just like you suppose to do when  roughing it.  Oct. 4 it is 36 degrees at 5AM. So Good Morning to all of you.

Sedona, Az. and Montezuma Well

Sept. 24,2013
Today, we decided to go see Sedona, its a AZ. town that sets in the Red Rocks,Walked the streets checked out the stores sat down for a cup of coffee and watched people, which there was lots of then decided to go see the Church on the hill called "Chapel of the Holy Cross", it is quaint from the church you could see this beautiful home, it is absolutely gorgeous then we drove to the Montezuma Well,it contains 15 million gallons of water, every day it is supplied with 1.5 million gallons of water, its fed through a long narrow cave in the southeast rim and reappear on the other side of the outlet. There was a dwelling down by the well, you can still see the door way and part of the wall. Walking down the path Jay found a cactus that is "heart shaped". It was a long day so we headed home.
