Visitors..Summer of 2010

Oct. 3,2010 Finally got to the blog...been a long time coming. Have had the right knee replaced in July..slow recovery but getting there. Attending the High school football games, we still have a grandson(Will) playing. The other grandson(Allan) is in college at Western Oregon University and he has been red shirted (Can't play because he is a freshman ), he does suit down and practice with the team. We will be heading south after State playoffs.

This has been a good year. We have had RV friends stay with us. Sure has been nice. Doris and Rudy, Vonnie and Kirby and now Jake and Nancy...we have went to Silver Creek Falls, did some walking to the upper and north falls. Saturday we went to McMinnville and saw the Spruce goose.....disappointing you couldn't see very much and couldn't go to the cockpit unless you were having your picture taken and that is another $25.00. Seniors are $19.00 each to get into the museum. The weather has been cloudy and damp...getting to be that time of the year.

Yuma

Arrived Dec. 26th at Pilot Knob and will leave here Jan. 6th. for Parker, Az. for 2 weeks ....will go to the desert for 4 days.

We had an earthquake in Yuma Dec. 30th it registered 5.8 . shook the trailer and made the little chimes ring. Felt like the washing machine was out of balance.

The RV park is about half full. Went to Mex. Algodones...things have really changed...don't think there was 150 cars in the parking lot. Picked up meds. and came back out. It just isn't the same.. Lots of the venders are gone...nothing hanging over head to make you duck...A few guys still trying to make you buy a necklace.

Went to 4 E swap meet...the parking lot was full..lots of dogs and the dog buggies and the owners pushing like they were the only ones at the meet.... I think they should put the old people in the carts and let the dogs push them around.

Siskeyou

Dec. 4th got the clearance from the Doc. to leave Salem. Thursday we headed South, spent the night in Grants Pass got up to freezing rain, decided to head for Medford I-5 was clear so we started over the pass, made it over the first hump it was clear and wet went through the Cal. check point and up to the top of the hill just over the crest was snow everywhere and the traffic was at a stand still. A big rig had spun out and stopped all traffic we went into the rest area and waited for 2 hours it was still snowing. Jay talked to a state man and he told us to use the old highway to Yreka it would be slow because it was crooked but no hills to pull. So off we went it was 7 miles to Yreka ....that was the slowwwwwest 7 miles we ever went. Now spending the night at Red Bluff, Cal. Will leave for Elk Grove to see Doris and Rudy...spend a couple of days with them and head for Cherry Valley, Ca.

Jay sure is a good nurse. He puts me to bed with a ice pack and has coffee ready for me in the morning. he has done all the cooking ,cleaning and laundry
Went to a couple of football games, the boys are winning so they will go on to State. Last night was 62-15. They played Philomath.
